Cylindrical contact lenses, which are used to correct astigmatism, would form a cylinder. Toric contacts are cylindrical, so a "bi-toric" contact lens has this cylindrical shape on the front and the back of a contact lens, as opposed to only one of these surfaces.
  in other words ,A cylindrical lens is a lens which focuses light which passes through on to a line instead of on to a point, as a spherical lens would. The curved face or faces of a cylindrical lens are sections of a cylinder, and focus the image passing through it onto a line parallel to the intersection of the surface of the lens and a plane tangent to it. The lens compresses the image in the direction perpendicular to this line, and leaves it unaltered in the direction parallel to it (in the tangent plane).

Cylinder" is a measurement of astigmatism. As you may or may not know, astigmatism is caused by the eye's cornea (corneal astigmatism) or lens (             lenticular astigmatism) being oval rather than round. The cylinder number shows just how oval the eye is. If the cylinder number is positive, it means the person is far sighted. A minus sign means they're near sighted.
